Heat Wave Expected To Break Next Week

After several weeks of above normal heat, it looks like a change is on the horizon.  Dennis Hull with the National Weather Service said he expects a relatively drastic change staring Sunday.

“We’re looking at temperatures 10-15 degrees cooler next week at this time, then what we’re going to be experiencing the rest of this week with temperatures in the upper 90s to around 103 to 105 in some locations, dropping into the upper 80s to around 90.”

Hull added winds will pick up across the Northwest, blowing out any remaining smoke, and bringing in a slight chance of a rain shower.  But before the temperatures cool down for the region, expect temperatures at or above the century mark for the next couple of days.  And with fair season starting in NE Oregon and Washington, Hull says it’s important to keep livestock well hydrated, and perhaps use misters to ensure their body temperature does not get too high.
