With the U.S. and China discussing a trade deal again, Patrick DeHaan with Gasbuddy.com unrest in Iran could start to push oil prices higher.  In addition, OPEC is meeting in Vienna, which could push prices up.

“To decide the fate of production cuts that it agreed to several years ago.  It does appear likely that OPEC will extend for another nine months those production cuts, but the devil is in the details, and those details will be coming out later today.”

What about for the weeks ahead?

“But expect to see gas prices moving up and it wouldn’t surprise me if we didn’t see diesel prices moving a little higher as well, kind of the sympathy factor, oil prices are up and that generally pushes refinery products like gasoline and diesel higher.”

As far as diesel prices are concerned,  the National  average held steady this week at $2.99 a gallon, Washington’s average dropped one cent to $3.31, Oregon’s price also fell one cent to $3.20 a gallon.
