
Central Washington Field Demonstrations To Focus On Biological Pest Control
Apple growers and crop advisors will have a chance to see the latest biological pest-control research in action later this month. USDA and Washington State University are hosting three field demonstrations June 24th and 25th in Pateros, Rock Island, and Royal City, highlighting the use of lacewings as a biocontrol tool in apple orchards.

Participants will see lacewing releases by hand, ATV, and drone, take part in hands-on monitoring activities, and hear the latest research findings and management recommendations from USDA scientists and industry partners.
Project lead Rebecca Schmidt-Jeffris says organizers are excited to share lessons learned from the three-year study.
