Drought Conditions Improve Slightly In Washington
In remains very dry across the Northwest, but the drought numbers have improved slightly in Washington. According to the latest USDA numbers, nearly 10% of the state is under the Severe Drought Designation (D-2), that’s down from the over 17% reported last week. And when it comes to the Moderate Drought Designation (D-1), that statewide figure fell from 60% last week to the current 48%.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Oregon. Over 31% of the Beaver state is under the Extreme Drought (D-3), unchanged from last week. Nearly 88% of the state is under a Severe Drought, while nearly 98% of the state is under a Moderate Drought. The worst drought conditions are reported in Central and Eastern Oregon.
