Direct Seed Association Wraps Up Another Successful Conference

The Pacific Northwest Direct Seed wrapped up another successful Conference Wednesday afternoon.  One of the most notable changes at this year’s conference, was the name.  Direct Seed Executive Director Kay Meyer told the Washington Ag Network the show, now known as the Cropping Systems Conference better represents the transition of farming in the Northwest.

“Because we really focus on all varieties and all components of production agriculture.  So, we’ve got precision ag represented, diverse crop rotation and cover crops figures those things out for our region.”

Meyer noted like in years past, the 2018 Conference had a great energy and excitement about the future of no-till farming.  And she added local farmers work hard to help each other enjoy long-term success.

“No mater what the market is doing out there people are excited about the innovations in direct seeding and what that’s allowing them to do as far as reducing input costs, understanding how they can do things better and improve the bottom line and improve their soil health.”
