After a soggy, slow start to the season, 2017 for many no-till farmers is shaping up to be a good one.  Kay Meyer, Executive Director of the Pacific Northwest Direct Seed Association, said she’s hopeful.

“I think overall it’s a good year, the yields generally are strong and market pricing is starting to come back, so it’s not as detrimental or a serious of a situation as last year with such low prices.  So, I think things are turning around, only time will tell if it continues an upward trend.”

Meyer added she wants to remind growers and non-growers that it remains extremely dry across the area, and there is the still a strong possibility of wildfires, so everyone is asked to please use caution in the coming months.
