Cropland Prices Move Lower In Washington, Oregon; Higher In Idaho
What are farmers paying for land across the Northwest?
In Washington, all cropland rental expenses in 2024 is $234 per acre, down $4 per acre from last year. Irrigated cropland increased $2 over the past year to an estimated $442 per acre. Meanwhile non-irrigated cropland is $72.50 per acre, down $3.50 per acre from 2023 numbers.
Cropland rental rates in Idaho is estimated at $206 per acre for 2024, up $9 year-over-year. Irrigated cropland is estimated at $276 per acre, up $10.00 per acre from 2023. Non-irrigated cropland rental expense is $65 per acre, down $1 per acre from last year.
Oregon producers paid $177 per acre for all cropland in 2024; that’s down $2 per acre from last year. Irrigated cropland is estimated at $266 per acre, up $7 per acre from 2023. While non-irrigated cropland is going for $107 per acre, unchanged from last year.
Pasture cash rent expense was $14 per acre in Idaho for 2024, up $1 per acre from 2023. In Oregon, pasture cash rent was $11.50 per acre, unchanged from the previous year. Washington producers paid $10 per acre for pasture rent, up $1 per acre from last year.
