Northwest corn condition is looking pretty when compared to the rest of the country. Washington has 81 percent good to excellent, Oregon 69 percent good and Idaho sits at 97 percent good to excellent.

Nationwide, corn conditions worsened slightly over the past week with 61 percent good to excellent and very poor to poor ratings up from 12 to 13 percent according to USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey.

“And of course, as we’ve been mentioning every week, this year’s crop’s significantly lower ratings than this time a year ago.”

Warmer temperatures and dry weather have been placing a premium on irrigation management according to NASS and was showing signs of stress in some parts of the Northwest.
