The cooler than normal and wetter than normal weather continues across the Inland Northwest.  Marilyn Lohmann with the National Weather Service says the sunny weather we enjoyed Monday and Tuesday will give way to rain showers Wednesday through Friday.  She said we could see roughly ¼” of rain.

“But a much stronger system is expected, we may see measurements there from ¼” to ½” of rain.”

Lohmann said looking at the 8-14 day forecast indicates the Inland Northwest will see below normal temperatures, and above normal precipitation.  She said we won’t see continues warm weather until late March at the earliest.  And for those looking to get out in the fields.

“The soil temperatures are running about three to five degrees below average right now as compared to a lot of other years.  But with the milder temperatures through the next week, we should see those warm up several degrees.”

However, Lohmann says with a new system rolling in next week, any increase in soil temperatures should plateau.
