February has been a cold and wet month across the Northwest.  And while we are still in winter, and will be until March 20th, Dennis Hull with the National Weather Service told the Washington Ag Network temperatures around the region have been below normal for most of the month.

“Down in Pendleton and Walla Walla about 2.5 degrees below normal, but looking north into Wenatchee, Moses Lake and Ephrata, anywhere from six to eight degrees below normal there, Pasco seven, and Yakima and Hermiston four degrees below normal.”

In addition to those cold temperatures, precipitation levels have been above normal for much of February.  Hull said we shouldn’t expect this weather pattern to change anytime soon.

“Well right now, it looks like it’s still going to be fairly active going on into March and we could have some more cold spells, and the outlook is calling for bellow average temperatures.”

Hull says we will see temperatures dropping to the mid-teens and lower 20's over the next couple of days, but he’s quick to note there not much of a chance of measurable snow in the coming days.
