Adjuvants Work To Make Sure Applications Work
In the effort to reduce input costs, it's important that growers get from their application what they expect. And As Austin Anderson with Helena Agri-Enterprises says, the most expensive application is the one that doesn’t work. To help those applications work as expected, and save producers money, Helena has a variety of adjuvants that help with tank mixes.
“You've got deposition, which whether it's through the canopy or up through the canopy, depending on your crops, you know, being able to make sure you can get that product stuck where it needs to go like. So there's a sticking component you've got, you know, drift control, which has been a major factor around that's been kind of dominating the space," Anderson said. "Being able to control that because you know you think about being able to manage expenses, you know who wants to be spraying your neighbor stuff? You know, just because they're downwind to you."
Adjuvants Can Help Address Many Common Spraying Challenges
Anderson, the Adjuvant Brand Manager at Helena Agri-Enterprises said they have products that can help with pH levels, calcium, magnesium, and iron in the water. He added they work to give producers the best chance possible at a strong crop, whether that’s early in the season, mid-year, or after harvest.
Anderson added, adjuvants, like any other investment, may cost a little up front, but will save money and time in the long run.
“When I'm evaluating what I'm doing, you know it’s about making sure that we put our best foot forward. Like I said earlier, the most expensive application that you're going to make is one that doesn't work. And so giving yourself the Peace of Mind and putting something in the tank like an adjuvant, is a really easy economical way to ensure that.”
Anderson added that water can harbor a lot of things that can make spraying more challenging, so he recommends looking at water conditioners.
