Washington State University will host its 2nd annual Washington Meat Up Summit next month.  WSU said the daylong event is designed to allow researchers as well as school officials to engage with producers, processors, restaurateurs and retailers, resource providers, and policy and decision makers to aid in the growth and support of the niche meats sector.  Other points of focus include a low stress handling demonstration to improve animal well-being and quality, as well as consumer education based on customer expectation. 

 

Keynote Address:  Reed Anderson, owner and operator of Anderson Ranches and Kalapooia Processing.  The Anderson Family have a multi-generational operation that is diversified in nature.  He will be sharing his thoughts and ideas on "Transparent Business Practices to Keep and Expand your Customer Base".

 

WSU said the April 5th event will be a peer-to-peer sharing and learning environment.  The Washington Meat Up Summit starts with registration at 9:30 a.m. at the Grant County Fairgrounds, 3953 Airway Dr. NE, Moses Lake, WA.

 

Registration will cost $35 if received by the close of business March 26th.  After that, registration will increase to $45.  Click Here to register.
