Washington State University’s Extension Forestry and DNR will feature its Forest Owners' Winter School classes on-line again this year. The DNR’s Kenny Ocker said classes will cover a wide range of topics from habitat and climate change to pests and diseases.

"It's for people who own just a couple of acres who want to learn a little bit more about how to take care of and protect the trees in their area, or provide a little bit of wildlife, to folks who have large-scale properties and want to be able to do thinning or timber harvest or make more business-oriented decisions with their land."

The one-day school will consist of five sessions, with more than 20, expert-led classes. Ocker said attendees can network with individuals within land management or those who simply have similar properties, interests or experiences.

"The more folks know about how to responsibly manage their lands the healthier the landscape will be for everybody in Washington state."

The free program will be held via Zoom Saturday February 26th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. And those that register will receive links to recorded classes they are not able to attend. Click Here to register for this week's event.
