Wolf Protocol Updated and Clarified
The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife have released an updated wolf policy citing lack of clarity and popular support for their original plan.
The WDFW included rules that required proactive deterrence measures be put in place if there is a concern about wolves attacking livestock before any killing of wolves would be authorized.
They also noted that investigations in livestock depredations would be conducted by the WDFW before lethal action against a member of a pack, or full pack would be authorized.
WDFW has a wolf home page with tons of key information, but there is also a link to the new protocols.
