
Fish & Wildlife Investigating Wolf Poaching In Lake County, Oregon
Federal authorities are looking for the person, or persons, who poached a protected wolf in south central Oregon. In October, a radio-collared male gray wolf known as OR-186 was found dead on public land north of Yamsay Mountain, about 10 miles from Jackson Creek Campground in Klamath County and Upper Buck Creek Campground in Lake County.
The area is west of Highway 395, where gray wolves are listed as endangered.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife is investigating the incident and is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this poaching incident is asked to call USFW at (503) 682-6131, or Oregon State Police at (800) 452-7888. Tips can be submitted via E-mail as well.
