Fall weather has a firm grip on the Inland Northwest.  And according to National Weather Service Meteorologist Dennis Hull, the cool, wet weather will stick with us into early November.  Hull said while the region has not seen large rain totals over the past week, the soil, and the air has remained wet.

“Close to 10 hours of daylight per day, of course with the clouds and the higher humidity, not much drying is going on compared to what we had going on during the regular part of the peak of the growing season, so when soils get wet it does take a bit longer to try out.”

Hull said the region should prepare for a wet weekend, with ½” of rainfall possible for some areas of Central and Eastern Washington.  Hull said while the showers should lighten up in intensity around Halloween, he doesn’t expect many dry days for the next week and a half.

Hull also noted that the long-range forecast calls for continued rain showers and cool conditions through November.
