Water Flows Into New Roza Reservoir

Wednesday was a big day for the Roza Irrigation District as the first water flowed during a pump test at the WasteWay 5 Re-regulation reservoir.  The pump testing will go on for several days.  The reservoir north of Sunnyside It is expected to be on line and fully operational later this month.  The $31 million project has been in the works since the late 1970s.

When completely on-line and filled, the 70 foot deep reservoir in Washout Canyon will hold 1,600 acre feet.
