Irrigators have received nothing but good news when it comes to water supply for the upcoming season.

Brent Bower with the National Weather Service said he’s seeing things he’s never seen.

“The water supply forecast for the main forecast points is at or above normal and some of them are quite high on the eastern edge of Washington, like in the Palouse at 142[percent of normal].”

Bower pointed to one particular fact that has been the biggest factor.

“54 of the last 68 days we’ve had measurable precipitation. That’s about 85 percent of everyday for almost a month and a half now. Plus the healthy mountain snows.”

Bower also noted that there is some areas that are experiencing severe excesses in soil moisture which is creating ponds.
