Washington Oregon Potato Conference Sets Attendance Record
This was a good year for the Washington/Oregon Potato Conference. The largest potato conference in North America got a little bigger this year, with a record attendance of over 3,000 attendees, surpassing last year’s attendance of 2,600, which at that time was a record.
“Widely attended, great speakers, the trade show has been hopping," said Chris Voigt is Executive Director of the Washington state Potato Commission. "And so, it's been a fabulous conference.”
Voigt says one of the strengths of this conference, is the ability for growers to come together in one place and network with industry, educators, researchers and most importantly each other.
“That's probably one of the best things about this conference. You know, if you were to ask a grower, that would be one of the things that they would say. And there are some people that they don't get to see during the year, and this is a time they can do that and do some catching up. But, yeah, it's amazing. Because we look at other conferences around the country and they're actually declining in attendance. Yet ours has just grown exponentially.”
Voigt said they are already looking forward to the 2026 Potato Conference, which will take place in January in the Tri-Cities.
