Those looking to offer ESL classes to workers or the non-English speaking community across Central Washington, mark your calendar for Friday March 23rd.  That’s when the Washington Apple Education Foundation will host its 6th adult ESL forum at Central Washington University.  WAEF’s Jennifer Witherbee said the forum is open to ESL providers.

“So these are the English and a Second Language Teachers, Program Administrators, when I talk about programs, sometimes those are in libraries sometimes they are in schools, sometimes they are in churches sometime those are in community resource organizations.”

Witherbee told the Washington Ag Network those providers are helping those employed in the industry.  What will be included in the March 23rd forum?  To determine that, Witherbee said they survey previous participants to determine what specific areas they would like to see addressed.

“Establishing benchmarks and goals and making those meaningful, and how to go about that.  They wanted to talk about some of the assessment methods that were out there, to help their students measure their own growth and achievements.” how do you reach those in need of ESL services.”
