The Oregon Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for the Nursery Advisory Committee.  This committee advises and consults with the department on operations of the Nursery Program, which aims to support Oregon's $1 billion Nursery & Greenhouse industry.  Members will provide input on topics such as:

  • plant pest quarantines
  • license fees
  • program organizational structure.

Interested applicants do not have to be a nursery grower/industry partner.  In fact, the ODA says they are looking for diverse perspectives to contribute to a forum that has otherwise been primarily driven by nursery industry members.

Click Here to learn more about the opening or to apply.  The application deadline is Sunday the August 31st.

How does this relate to the Oregon Invasive Species Council and its mission?

Movement of plant products is known pathway of the introduction and dissemination of plant insect and pathogens.  This is an opportunity to learn more about the industry, challenges of regulating plant products all while supporting the agency and its staff who care deeply about the industry and pest prevention and education.
