The USDA officially launched its trio of trade mitigation programs designed to help producers impacted by retaliatory tariffs.  Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue said signup is now underway at local FSA offices.

"The Market Facilitation Program to provide payments for cotton, corn, dairy, pork, soybeans, sorghum and wheat growers."

And that runs through January 15th.  Additional details on that program are available On-line.

"USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service will administer a food purchase and distribution program, to purchase commodities unfairly targeted by unjustified retaliation,” Perdue added.

Meanwhile, U.S. Ag exporters, now through November 2nd, can apply for the Agricultural Trade Promotion Program through the Foreign Agricultural Service to help build new markets.  For details, or to learn more, check out FAS’ Website.
