The USDA is out with changes and alterations to proposed amendments of the Federal Milk Marketing Orders, better known as FMMOs.  So, what adjustments were made between July's proposed recommendations and the final decision announced last week.

“Changes to the implementation period on our milk composition changes. We changed a few of the Class One differentials that we had proposed initially," said USDA Agricultural Marketing Service Deputy Administrator Dana Coale.  "We made some modification to the make allowance for nonfat dry milk, in particular.  And we incorporated a marketing cost factor into those make allowances as well.”

Details of the FMMO amendments, the producer referendum process and upcoming information webinars are available on AMS’ Website.
