Crop Growers Received More For Their Commodity In August
USDA's latest Agricultural Prices Report shows a month-over-month increase in what growers received pricewise for their commodities in August. The 1.9% increase in total prices received in August was fueled by a 5.8% jump in what crop growers received regarding price.

Across the board increases for food and feed grain, oil seed, and fruit and tree nut growers. The only crop production index category reporting a decrease from the prior month was the vegetable and melon index, down 1.6%.
Meanwhile, the livestock prices received index was down 2.2% in August. While both meat, animal and dairy prices received by producers were lower month-over-month, poultry and egg growers noted a slight increase in the prices they received.
