Secretary Perdue, one month ago, said this about U.S. beef getting into China.

“We’re working through the necessary phytosanitary and sanitary protocols to make sure that we meet their requirements and we think we will certainly be able to do so.”

Those conversations have borne fruit as China has agreed to begin importing beef from the U.S., with the details announced Monday.

USDA’s Agricutural Marketing Service has details on applying for approval to export on their website and Food Safety and Inspection Service has updated their site with details on what the requirements are to ship beef to China.
