Trout Value Up 8% Year-Over-Year

The value of trout sold and distributed, excluding eggs, across Idaho totaled $44.5 million in 2024, up 21% year-over year.  Idaho accounted for 41% of the total value of fish sold and distributed.  The total value of fish in both Washington and Oregon was withheld to avoid disclosing data for individual operations.  NASS noted the total value of fish in the United States totaled $108 million, up 8% from 2023.

The estimated value of fish distributed for restoration, conservation, enhancement, or recreational purposes totaled 151 million dollars nationwide last year, up 4% from 2023.

In Oregon, the value of distributed fish in the 6"-12" category totaled $13.0 million, up 19% from 2023. In Washington, the value of distributed fish in the 6"-12" category totaled $15.8 million, up 5% from 2023.
