Farmers in the U.S. and Canada are buying fewer tractors and combines this year. July numbers from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers show double-digit sales drops in some categories on both sides of the border.

Farmers are feeling the pinch in the equipment market, but there are some silver linings worth noting.
