More snow hit the Inland Northwest over the weekend to continue a tough winter.

USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey said, “The interior Northwest has really suffered under a sustained period of not just heavy precipitation but bitter cold. It has been extremely cold. We’ve seen a lot of snow and ice storms.”

The large amounts of precipitation have done some damage to ag buildings.

Rippey said, “Agricultural warehouses have collapsed across parts of Eastern Oregon and Southwestern Idaho in particular and that has come into play with onion storage and other issues across some of the ag areas of the Northern Intermountain West.”

One report estimated damage at $100 million on those facilities.
