Farms across the Northwest, whether a large or small operation, have one thing in common; irregularly shaped or smaller fields.  And for these fields, while they can still produce great crops, traditional pivots aren’t a good fit.

Nicholas Scates, Valley Senior Product Manager – Valley Hardware Products, said in many cases traditional pivots are just too large to configure properly, or the ROI just isn’t there.

“The Small Field Center Pivot, though, is purpose-built for fields up to 60 acres," Scates said.  "So, now you can bring Valley-level precision irrigation to areas that were underutilized. Growers can make the most of every acre, improve efficiency, save on labor, and get premium irrigation technology even on smaller fields now.”

A Pivot Made For Your Field

Scates stressed the Small Field Center Pivot is not just a scaled-down version of a larger pivot, adding it was engineered specifically for smaller-acreage fields.

“So, smaller pipe and optimized design, that can support improved energy efficiency from their pump. Integration with Valley ICON control panels provides connectivity to AgSense 365 for remote monitoring and control, just like they would with their larger pivots. You're reducing your operating costs. compared to more labor-intensive irrigation methods that have been deployed on smaller acreages in the past. So again, it delivers the advantages of large-scale irrigation to smaller or irregular fields that were previously difficult maybe to irrigate efficiently.”

Scates added the integration with existing Valley equipment allows growers to monitor multiple pivots from one dashboard.
