Let's take a look at the latest for the livestock markets from the USDA’s Livestock, Grain and Poultry office in Moses Lake, WA.  What’s the latest when it comes tot he national Slaughter Cattle Review, and the Box Beef Cutout Values?  The USDA's Greg Sanders has last week’s numbers.

 

“On Thursday, negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light demand in all major feeding regions," Sanders noted.  "A few slaughter heifers over 80% choice on a live basis sold at $2.55. When it comes to the Box Beef Cutout Values, a choice yield grade 1-3; 600-900-pound carcass was down $0.08 at $393.21.  A select yield grade 1-3; 600-900-pound carcass was down $246 at $373.25. The Cutter Cow carcass gross cutout value yesterday was down $0.45 at $359.63.”
