There are a fewer empty leadership slots at USDA, as Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue swore in five new USDA Agency Administrators earlier this week.  Sworn in were the folks who will lead Foreign Agricultural Service, the Risk Management Agency, the Rural Housing Service, the Rural Utility Service, and Rural Business Cooperative Service.

There are still several agencies without administrators.  Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue said he first needs the undersecretary for those agencies to be confirmed, before naming their agency administrators.  And there are a few undersecretaries waiting for confirmation.  However, it could be a while before the USDA is fully staffed with it’s leaders.
