Resolution Looks To Designate June As National Dairy Month
On Monday, Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson cosponsored a resolution to designate June as National Dairy Month. House Resolution 257 is sponsored by New York Republican Representative Claudia Tenney.
“With Idaho being the third-largest dairy-producing state, the dairy industry plays a significant role in our economy," Simpson said this week. "Designating June as National Dairy Month recognizes the substantial economic impact and honors those who work tirelessly to keep our fridges stocked and bring nutritious dairy products to kitchen tables across the nation. It is an honor to represent one of the most productive dairy districts in the country, and I will continue advocating for Idaho's hardworking farmers who produce milk, cheese, and other nourishing dairy products.”
Most American Dairy Farms Are Family Operations
The Resolution 257 highlighted that 97% of American dairy farms are small, family-owned businesses. And that the 60,000 dairy farms nationwide support over three million American jobs. Click Here to read the entire Resolution.
