Razor Clamming Opens On Central Oregon Coast
Last week, the Oregon Department of Agriculture and the state Department of Fish and Wildlife announced the opening of the central coast for razor clam harvesting. Razor clam harvesting is now open from Cape Lookout, south of Netart's Bay, to the California border. State officials say recent shellfish samples taken from the area indicate levels of the marine biotoxin domoic acid have fallen below the closure limit. However, razor clam harvesting remains closed from Cape Lookout north to the mouth of the Columbia River.
