Every other year the Washington Cattlemen’s Association hosts a public lands tour, and this year, the organization will be touring lands in Okanogan County.  Chelsea Hajny, Executive Vice President of the WCA, said ranchers will have an opportunity to talk with state and federal department heads about not only the good things that are taking place on those public lands, but also where improvements can be made.

“Something we're pretty passionate about, we say roughly 65% of the cattle that are produced in Washington state rely on public lands at some point in their journey, from pasture to plate," Hajny said.  "So, public lands in Washington state is something that's very important to us.”

The Public Lands Tour starts at 8:30 a.m. in Chesaw on June 16th.  To learn more, or to register, E-mail the WCA.
