OSU, WSU Holding Potato Field Days Next Week
Potatoes will take center stage in both Oregon and Washington next week.
Oregon State University’s Hermiston Potato Field Day will take place Wednesday June 25th from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. OSU officials say the Hermiston Potato field will feature sessions focused on breeding, pest management, nutrient and water management, as well as the ongoing field trials. The Field Day will take place at the Hermiston Agricultural Research and Extension Center, 2121 South 1st Street.
And then, the next day, Washington State University will hold their annual Potato Field Day Thursday June 26th in Othello. The highlight is the annual tour of WSU’s commercial seed lot trial, a 62-year-running field test of dozens of commercially grown potato varieties held in partnership with the Washington State Potato Commission and members of the potato industry. The Othello Research Farm is located at 1471 W. Cox Road.
