Palouse Alternative Cropping Symposium Days Away

In an effort to improve soil health across the Southeastern Washington, the Palouse Conservation District will host their "Palouse Alternative Cropping Symposium" later this month.  Lovina Englund with PCD told the Washington Ag Network they’re looking to help farmers improve profitability.

“We got a grant from the Washington state Soil Health Committee.  We’re hoping to get some good information out the door and some resources in peoples hands about information about improving soil health and some potentials for cropping practices that are practical.”

Englund said growers from all over eastern Washington into North Central Idaho will be in attendance.  Which makes this a great opportunity to network with those who are trying these soil improvement practices.

“Their cover cropping or their soil health attempts working for their individual systems.  So, I think there are a lot of people out there, kind of the leaders and the innovators who want to try and share their ideas and innovations with other growers.”
