Umatilla, Morrow, Wallowa and Jackson Counties received nearly $70,000 combined to help implement livestock management or non-lethal wolf deterrent techniques.

Umatilla and Wallowa Counties received nearly $30,000 each and all four counties got this supplemental funding that will be added to the grant funds the counties received in May.

Previous grants have been used for reducing the number of attractive smells for wolves, barriers, increased human presence, livestock protection dogs and much more.

Half of the funding comes from two federal prevention grants with the state providing the other 50 percent through the Supplemental Prevention Grant process.
