NW Washington Dairy Tours Set For This Weekend

Whatcom County dairy farmers are inviting the public for a behind the scenes peak of what’s happening on the farm during the 5th annual Whatcom This Whey Dairy Tours.  The free, self-guided event takes place Saturday, June 20th, and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with seven participating dairy farms, creameries, and cheesemaking facilities opening their doors to visitors.

Guests can tour milking parlors, meet cows and calves, sample dairy products, enjoy wagon rides, and learn how local farmers care for animals, protect water resources, and produce food.  Organizers say the event offers a rare opportunity to see where dairy products come from and connect directly with farm families.
