The Northwest onion crop is off to a good start.  Growers in southeastern Oregon and southwestern Idaho report this year’s harvest is looking positive.  Yields appear to be slightly above long-term averages.  The Capital Press reported the harvest and size of onions has been exceptional and much of the crop was harvested before frost rolled in to the area.

Harvest numbers for Northeastern Oregon and southeastern Washington are not available yet.
