In many ways, 2022 was a turbulent year for Northwest producers, for a variety of reasons, with some commodities enjoying a great year, and others struggling.  When it comes to the Idaho dairy sector, Rick Naerebout says this was a pretty good year for the average producer.

“Maybe doesn't feel that way today just because we've endured some pretty high feed prices the last few months here since harvest and that that's really put a crimp on what otherwise was a good financial year for most our dairymen.”

Naerebout, the CEO of the Idaho Dairyman’s Association, said between high input costs and uncertainty for 2023, he said many producers are apprehensive as they look to the future.
