Earlier this summer MyLand announced FarmTogether, a multimillion-dollar farmland investment firm, had integrated Myland’s Soil as a Service technology across four of its high-value apple orchards in Washington.  MyLand Co-Founder and CEO Dane Hague said their technology uses each farm’s native microalgae to strengthen soil structure and increase organic matter.

“We focus on microbiology because it's the base of the food chain and the soil microbiome. So, the idea is we feed that environment with an immediately available food source so that when it dies and breaks down, it's feeding the microbial community it's building up that activity.”

MyLand's Service On Several Orchards Across The West

Hague noted the microalgae is delivered whenever the farm is irrigated, meaning no additional work for the producer.  In addition to those Washington orchards, MyLand is working with producers in California, Texas, Arizona and Alberta.

Hague noted the long-term goal of MyLand is to be the most impactful soil health company on Earth.

“But we do that by partnering with growers to deliver more to their bottom line.  So, fundamentally, what we want to do is we want to attack all Ag regions that are that are irrigated landscapes, at this point in time, focused on higher value specialty crops, food production.  And as a result of what we're doing, put more into the pockets of those growers and at the same time deliver the co-benefits of healthier soil.”
