As the Northwest population continues to grow, many of those relocating to the region may not be familiar with the agriculture history for each state.  Cameron Mulrony, Executive Vice President of the Idaho Cattle Association, says as the population grows, and the politics change.

“The importance of a functioning cattle industry give all the citizens of Idaho the things that they move to Idaho to enjoy whether you're involved directly in the cattle industry or not that is a function of Idaho and our success over the decades prior to and the decades in the future.”

Idaho’s population moved just above the two million mark in 2024, up from the 1.3 million reported just 20 years earlier.  The Gem State population has grown every year since 1987.
