Last month, Spokane-based MedStar announced its critical care air transport service will combine with Oregon-based Life Flight.  Life Flight’s Justin Dillingham told the Washington Ag Network this merger will improve access to emergency care for rural customers across Central and Easter Washington, as well as Northeast Oregon.  He said in addition to improving the area of coverage by Life Flight, this merger also means a fixed wing aircraft in Moses Lake.  He said this will of great benefit to North Central Washington hospitals.

“Traditionally are served by helicopters but as you know there are a number of times in the winter even in the summer with the smoke from wildfires where helicopters cannot complete those flights and so rather than waiting for fixed winged aircraft from Richland or from Spokane to respond there will be a resource much closer.”

Currently MedStar operates out of Spokane, Richland, Pullman Brewster and Moses Lake.

While Life Flight operates out of La Grande, Ontario, Oregon and Lewiston Idaho.
