On Wednesday, the Idaho State Department of Agriculture announced that applications are currently being accepted for the 2025 Specialty Crop Block Grant.

ISDA anticipates receiving over $2 million from the USDA for projects that enhance the competitiveness of Idaho specialty crops.  The Department said projects must enhance the competitiveness of Idaho grown specialty crops in either domestic or foreign markets and must provide a benefit to more than a single organization, institution or individual.

Last year, ISDA awarded funding to 17 projects, with an average allocation of $113,500 each.  Projects benefitted apples, beans, cherries, hops, mint, potatoes, wine, onions, horticulture and seed potato. Activities included domestic and international market expansion and trade facilitation, pest and disease control, crop management and education.

An application webinar will be held Thursday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. MT/10 a.m. PT.  Application materials and information about the webinar are available at ISDA's Website.  For more information on grant applications, contact Brenden Meyet at (208) 332-8547.

The deadline for submitting all application materials is Monday, March 10, 2025.
