Idaho Trout Sales Top $43M In 2022

According to NASS, the value of trout sales in Idaho in 2022 totaled $43.4 million, up 29% from 2021.  The total value sales received by trout producers across the U.S. totaled $103 million last year, up 4% from 2021 numbers.

Idaho accounted for 42% of trout sold.

Total value of trout sold in Washington and Oregon was withheld to avoid disclosing data for individual operations.

The estimated value of fish distributed for restoration, conservation, enhancement, or recreational purposes totaled $139 million in the United States, up slightly from 2021. In Washington, the value of distributed fish totaled $19.7 million.
