The Idaho Cattle Association (ICA) is preparing to start its 2024 Grass Futurity competition.

This is the 12th year for the event, where cattle producers of Idaho are challenged to present their best calf in a challenge to see which has the most gains over four months. Calves are donated by entrants, and then sold afterward.

The funds raised go to ICA's Political Action Committee, Cattle Action Legal Fund, and other funds to promote the cattle industry in Idaho. Over $475,000 has been raised so far through previous Grass Futurity events.

Top gainers each month will get a prize, alongside overall average winners after the competition ends. Sponsors of the content also donate genetic information, carcass data, and other statistics to the entrants which can be used to better each herd.

More information and the entry form are available on ICA's website.
