ICA Accepting Applications, Donations To The 2024 Wildfire Relief Fund
The Idaho Cattle Association is now accepting donations, as well as applications, to the Wildfire Relieve Fund. ICA’s Morgan Lutgen said thanks to the help of AgWest Farm Credit Services, the Relief Fund was established a couple of years ago, to benefit beef cattle producers impacted by fires in the Gem state. Since the Fund was launched, the Association has held fund raisers to make sure those who need assistance have somewhere to turn.
"This year, you know, we've obviously had a lot of producers that either are affected directly or, you know, maybe run in in both Oregon and Idaho and they're looking for relief funds because the wildfire season has just been so brutal this year. So we're just trying to get a little more awareness around the fund and hopefully get some of those producers some relief this year.”
Lutgen added this Wildfire Relief Fund demonstrates the caring and supportive nature of the Idaho Ag community.
“More and more what we're seeing is that they want to band together, and even if they're not the ones directly impacted, whatever they can do to support each other. Because at the end of the day, we're all being impacted by this in the Ag community and even more specifically in in beef in this case. And that desire to take care of the neighbor is definitely there, and we see that, and we want to make sure that people know where the opportunities exist to help support.”
Applications will be accepted now through October 15th. If you’d like to learn more about the application process, or if you’d like to donate to the 2024 Wildfire Relief Fund, visit the Idaho Cattle Association's Website.
