The USDA marked National Ag Day Thursday by rolling out a new web-site aimed at young people.

"It is a platform to showcase the multitude of USDA youth programs. Each one of our agencies is doing some amazing youth programming and education work," said USDA's Youth Program Coordinator Tory Powell.

"We had so many great programs, but we did not have a place for youth to go to that featured everything together," Powell continued.  "So, youth that wanted to do an Ag summer program had to AFIS web-site or they wanted to do a Forest Service program, they had to go to a Forest Service web-site."

The new web-site is a one-stop-shop that not only lists a variety of USDA programs, but also tells stories of how other people used them.

"And that, at the end of the day, is what we're trying to do with this web-site is to spark some engagement and then help students figure out how to like take that engagement, that spark, and do something creative with it."
