The FSA County Committee election cycle is now underway, and runs through August 1st. FSA Administrator, Richard Fordyce, said Committees are responsible for decisions at the local level; ranging from program decisions to hiring to county executive directors. One third of all seats are up for election, as is the case every year.

"[To be eligible] the nomination really consists of producers that have participated with in Farm Service Agency programs. They can nominate themselves or they can nominate someone else through that nomination process."

The county committee election takes place from in November and December, with those elected officials taking office January 1st. To learn more about the County Committee election process, or for nomination forms, check out the FSA's Website.
