Grant County roads were nearly undriveable Tuesday night and it caused several wrecks in the hazardous conditions.

Grant County Sherriff Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman said that’s when farmers stepped up.

“We were really grateful because we had a lot of help from area farmers who came out with their tractors and their plows to not only help remove vehicles from the snow drifts but also to clear roadways and driveways to help other people get out.”

Foreman said this is part of their work with the community to try and make Grant County a better place to live.

With the severe weather and snow drifting across roadways making it treacherous, Foreman said they can count on the ag community.

“That little bit of help that the farmers could give us with coming out, plowing and helping pull some of those vehicles out was fantastic.”

Grant County Sheriffs responded to more than 40 cars stuck due to drifting snow, but thankfully no one was hurt.
